Volunteering

Our volunteers are passionate about giving back and making a difference in their community. They come from all walks of life some are young professionals, adults and retirees — but they all believe in the power of education and strong public schools. Becoming TUFOI Volunteer is a life-changing experience making a positive impact on others’ life. The TUFOI volunteer program is full of opportunities. We invite people of all backgrounds to participate in creating a life of dignity for vulnerable children in the country we serve. 

The TUFOI volunteer experience is much more than a job; the volunteers are part of the TUFOI family. Volunteer in Tanzania placements are available in Arusha, and soon we will extend to other regions. You will be offered a personal and customisable placement service and will be supported throughout the duration of your placement. We work directly with the projects where we send you and where your contribution will make a real and meaningful difference. 

Volunteer Tanzania » Accommodation & Meals

Volunteers stay with host families. The volunteer rooms are comfortable and may be shared with 1 or 2 other volunteers. Accommodation is usually within walking, cycling or a short bus ride from the project. Two meals per day are provided.

We invite individuals, couples, families, students, researchers, and groups (churches, colleges, and student associations). Our programs are flexible and volunteers can arrive and depart on any day all year round.
