Tupendane Foundation and initiatives (TUFOI) is a Tanzanian Non- governmental Organization established as a national charitable foundation since 2017 and was officially registered under Tanzanian Non-Governmental Act No.24 of 2002 in November 2021, with a registration number OONGO/R/2425

The Foundation name emanates from Swahili word meaning “we should love each other”. We believe in a world where development is steered by quality education to all and power is shifted into the hands of communities. Tupendane Foundation and Initiatives (TUFOI) was created by five founder members to help lower income families to have a better way of living through provision of education.

The Foundation aims to focus most on the communities that are poor and those that cannot afford quality education and other social services like water, food and shelter. The main beneficiaries are poor families, orphans, disabled, vulnerable children, homeless, youths and women. We want to change the current traditional philanthropy and prove that a new, more equitable and responsive approach will results to combating ignorance, poverty and inadequate development.

To reach our objectives, we apply systematic and interdisciplinary approaches that foresee the implementation development projects in five different sectors of intervention: education, health, environment, youth and women.

We are proud to be a right-hand instrument for change in the Tanzanian educational landscape. Together, we can empower communities to become change agents in their own societies.
