Solar Power Lights Up Learning at Bethlehem Star School

July 22, 2026 admin Completed

At Bethlehem Star Pre & Primary School, learning no longer ends when daylight fades. Through the installation of a modern solar power system, classrooms, boarding facilities, staff residences, and essential school services now have reliable electricity, creating a safer and more productive learning environment.

Before the installation, evening study sessions were limited, and teachers often relied on flashlights or kerosene lamps to complete lesson preparation and marking. Boarding students also faced challenges moving around the school grounds after dark, affecting both safety and comfort.

The new solar energy system now powers classroom lighting, study areas, administrative offices, and outdoor security lights. Students preparing for examinations can continue studying during the evening, while teachers have better working conditions to support quality education.

"Reliable electricity has transformed our school. Students now have the opportunity to study after sunset, teachers can prepare lessons more effectively, and the entire campus is much safer at night."

Beyond education, the project has improved the overall well-being of the school community. Outdoor lighting enhances campus security, while dependable electricity supports daily administrative work and creates a more comfortable environment for both staff and boarding students.

Solar energy also reduces operating costs by minimizing dependence on expensive fuel-powered generators or unreliable electricity sources. The savings allow more resources to be directed toward improving education, purchasing learning materials, and supporting student welfare.

This project reflects Tupendane Foundation's commitment to providing sustainable infrastructure that strengthens education and creates lasting opportunities for children. By investing in renewable energy at Bethlehem Star School, the Foundation is helping ensure that every student has a brighter, safer, and more inspiring place to learn.
