A Closer Look
Hybrid Learning Transforms Education at Bethlehem Star School
A hybrid learning project has strengthened literacy and digital skills for 540 pupils through new learning materials, a modern computer laboratory, and teacher training.

Registered under the Tanzanian Non-Governmental Organizations Act No. 24 of 2002, registration number OONGO/R/2425.
First development interventions
TUFOI began its development work, starting with education sponsorship for pupils from poor families.
Environmental conservation and first solar installation
100 trees planted along the Usa River to rehabilitate degraded river banks, medicinal plant seedlings raised at Mukuru Village, and solar power installed at a school without reliable electricity.
Clean water and solar power at Bethlehem Star School
A water borehole was completed with Akina e.V. and a full solar power system installed with Sopowerful, together serving 481 students and 34 staff.
Community conservation with local partners
1,000 indigenous medicinal tree seedlings raised and distributed in Mukuru Village with the Kitumusote Foundation and Mukuru Eco Tented Camp.

What Reliable Electricity Changed
After a solar power system was installed at Bethlehem Star Pre & Primary School, study hours were extended, electricity costs fell, and the school's district ranking rose from 5th to 3rd.
