Leadership & Governance
TUFOI is governed by an Annual General Meeting (AGM) as its supreme governing body, with strategic oversight provided by a seven-member Board of Directors. Day-to-day management is led by the TUFOI Secretariat, headed by the Executive Director.

TUFOI is a Tanzanian NGO registered under the Non-Governmental Organisations Act No. 24 of 2002 (registration OONGO/R/2425). Each year, our work spans education sponsorship, clean water access, solar energy, environmental conservation, health, and youth and women's empowerment programs across Tanzania — reflected in figures such as 570+ solar energy beneficiaries, 123+ children sponsored in education, 800+ people with improved clean water access, and 1000+ community members reached through environmental projects. 2025 Highlights (Audited)
- Scaled our education sponsorship program to 116 pupils at Bethlehem Star Pre & Primary School in 2025, up from 76 pupils in 2023, with a total investment of TZS 131,192,845 covering school fees, transport, uniforms, supplies, and accommodation.
- Installed a solar power system at Bethlehem Star Pre & Primary School in collaboration with Sopowerful (Netherlands), valued at TZS 27,750,000, extending study hours and contributing to the school's district ranking rising from 5th to 3rd place.
- Completed a water borehole at Bethlehem Star Pre & Primary School, costing TZS 14,005,500 (TZS 13,368,500 funded by Akina e.V., Germany), now serving approximately 481 students, 34 staff, and neighboring community members.
- Distributed 1,000 medicinal tree seedlings in Mukuru Village with the Kitumusote Foundation and Mukuru Eco Tented Camp, and monitored 2024 tree plantings, finding a 70% survival rate for medicinal plantings versus 10% for general tree plantings at Usa River Primary School.
- Total receipts for 2025: TZS 177,481,818 (2024: TZS 80,586,641). Total payments: TZS 177,182,036 (2024: TZS 79,940,340). The financial statements received an unqualified (clean) audit opinion from EM Financial Consultancy, Arusha.
