TUFOI Expands Education Sponsorship to Support 116 Pupils at Bethlehem Star School

August 05, 2026 admin Ongoing

At Bethlehem Star Pre & Primary School, education sponsorship is helping children access the learning opportunities, resources, and support they need to grow, learn, and build a brighter future.

Through its education sponsorship program, Tupendane Foundation and Initiatives (TUFOI) significantly expanded its support at Bethlehem Star, increasing the number of sponsored pupils from 76 in 2024 to 116 pupils in 2025.

With a total investment of TZS 131,192,845, the program provided comprehensive support covering school fees, transportation, uniforms, school supplies, and accommodation.

For many children, access to education depends on more than simply having a place in a classroom. Families may face challenges meeting the costs associated with school attendance, learning materials, transport, and accommodation.

TUFOI's sponsorship program helps reduce these barriers, allowing sponsored pupils to attend school and participate more fully in their education.

The support goes beyond individual pupils. By strengthening the resources available at Bethlehem Star, TUFOI is also contributing to a better learning and living environment for the wider school community.

As part of the 2025 support, TUFOI contributed 300 chairs and dining tables valued at TZS 7,000,000, helping improve the school's furniture and dining facilities.

The foundation also supported the school with a washing and drying machine valued at TZS 3,550,000, helping strengthen essential facilities for pupils and the school community.

Additional support included a food donation valued at TZS 2,600,000, helping contribute to the nutritional needs of the children.

To support learning, TUFOI provided textbooks and exercise books valued at TZS 780,000. These materials give pupils additional resources to practice, study, and strengthen their academic development.

The initiative also included two laptops, five iPads, and musical instruments, providing additional opportunities for pupils to engage with technology, creative learning, and extracurricular activities.

“When children have access to education, learning materials, technology, and a supportive school environment, they are given more than an opportunity to study. They are given the confidence and tools to imagine a better future.”

The expansion from 76 sponsored pupils in 2024 to 116 pupils in 2025 demonstrates TUFOI's continued commitment to making education more accessible to children who need additional support.

For Bethlehem Star Pre & Primary School, the partnership represents a broader investment in children's education and well-being. From classroom materials and technology to furniture, food, transport, and accommodation, each contribution helps create an environment where children can learn and develop with greater opportunity.

TUFOI is grateful to its partners, sponsors, supporters, and the Bethlehem Star school community for their continued collaboration in expanding access to education and strengthening opportunities for children.

By investing in children today, TUFOI is helping build the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to shape a stronger future.
