The Green School Project is an environmental conservation initiative led by TUFOI, with the primary goal of planting trees on school grounds and in surrounding communities. This project is designed to mitigate the effects of climate change, restore biodiversity, and inspire young people to take part in sustainable practices.

Project Goals

  1. Conserve the Environment – Promote reforestation and eco-friendly practices in schools and communities.
  2. Combat Climate Change – Trees help absorb carbon dioxide, regulate temperature, and prevent soil erosion.
  3. Promote Biodiversity – Introduce a variety of tree species including:
  • Indigenous shade trees
  • Medicinal trees
  • Ornamental trees

Grafted fruit trees (mango, avocado, orange, etc.)

TUFOI’s ambitious target is to plant 90,000 trees within three years across primary and secondary schools in Tanzania.

Cost of the Project

Your support makes a direct difference. Each contribution plants a tree that grows into a source of shade, food, medicine, and environmental balance.

Cost of one grafted fruit tree: TZS 4,000 / USD 1.60

Cost of one multipurpose tree (shade, medicinal, ornamental): TZS 2,000 / USD 0.80

Donation Impact

  • USD 8 → Plants 5 multipurpose trees
  • USD 16 → Plants 10 fruit trees
  • USD 50 → Supports a small school garden with 30+ trees
  • USD 160 → Sponsors 100 fruit trees
  • USD 800 → Sponsors 1,000 multipurpose trees
  • USD 1,600 → Funds 1,000 fruit trees, providing food and long-term benefits

Why It Matters

  • Climate Action – Every tree helps fight global warming.
  • Food Security – Fruit trees provide nutrition and income opportunities.
  • Education & Awareness – Students learn hands-on about conservation and sustainability.
  • Community Impact – Trees benefit not just schools but also surrounding villages.

By investing in trees, you are investing in the future of children, communities, and the planet.
